Personal information is collected when users submit a registration form to create an account with Cash Express.

  1. Anonymity and Pseudonymity

Cash Express respects your right to anonymity and pseudonymity to the extent possible. While we may collect personal identification information from users of our website and services through various means—such as when users visit our site, complete the registration request form, or engage in services like remitting money to Sri Lanka—users must submit valid identification documents to complete transactions.

While we require this information for transaction purposes, users can choose to engage with certain aspects of our site without providing personal identification details, as long as those actions do not involve transactions.

  1. Collection of Solicited Personal Information

Cash Express is committed to ensuring that the personal information we collect is accurate, up to date, complete, and relevant to the services we provide. We undertake reasonable steps to verify the accuracy of sensitive information collected from users. This verification is conducted through GreenID and is further screened in accordance with our Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures.

These measures are implemented to ensure the integrity of personal information and to comply with applicable legal and regulatory obligations.

  1. Dealing with Unsolicited Personal Information

Cash Express does not sell, trade, or rent personal identification information to any third parties. We are committed to handling unsolicited personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). If we receive unsolicited personal information that we determine is not necessary for our functions or activities, we will take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify that information, in compliance with our obligations under the Australian Privacy Principles.

  1. Notification of the Collection of Personal Information

Cash Express notifies users that we collect personal sensitive information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). We also report all transactions to the Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (AUSTRAC) as required by law.

By providing personal information, users consent to its collection and are able to access our services, including the ability to remit money to Sri Lanka through Cash Express. We encourage users to review our privacy policy for further details regarding the handling of their personal information.

  1. Use or Disclosure of Personal Information

Cash Express reports all remittance transactions to the Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (AUSTRAC) and utilizes the Seylan Bank Sey Cash system to facilitate the transfer of funds to Sri Lanka.

As part of our operational processes, we may share personal information with AUSTRAC, Seylan Bank, and Foxfire Pty Ltd. It is important to note that Foxfire RNP operates as a business unit of Foxfire Pty Ltd (ACN 130 286 958).

All information sharing is conducted in compliance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles to ensure the protection of your personal information.

  1. Direct Marketing

If users choose to opt in to our mailing list, they may receive emails containing news and updates from Cash Express related to remittances to Sri Lanka. Cash Express may also send emails and text messages to registered customers from time to time.

Registered customers who do not wish to receive such communications can request to opt out at any time. We will ensure that all requests to cease direct marketing communications are processed promptly, in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

  1. Cross-Border Disclosure of Personal Information

Cash Express may share personal information with Seylan Bank, a private commercial bank in Sri Lanka, for the purpose of processing transactions through the Seylan Bank Sey Cash system.

When disclosing personal information to Seylan Bank, we take reasonable steps to ensure that the recipient handles the information in a manner consistent with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. Users should be aware that the privacy laws of Sri Lanka may differ from those in Australia.

  1. Adoption, Use or Disclosure of Government-Related Identifiers

Cash Express is a registered Remittance Service Provider with the Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (AUSTRAC), holding registration number 100242077. We report all transactions to AUSTRAC in a timely manner to comply with our regulatory obligations.

Cash Express does not adopt, use, or disclose government-related identifiers (such as tax file numbers or other official identification numbers) as our own identifiers, except where required or permitted by law.

  1. Quality of Personal Information

Cash Express is committed to taking reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information we collect is accurate, up to date, and complete. We have implemented procedures and systems designed to verify the validity of the data we collect.

Regular reviews and updates are conducted to maintain the quality of personal information, ensuring that it remains relevant to our functions and activities.

Cash Express takes the security of personal information seriously. A qualified  IT company monitors our data security, and all personal data is stored on a secure server. This server is regularly monitored to ensure ongoing security and integrity.

We implement robust cybersecurity measures to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or loss. These measures are reviewed and updated as necessary to respond to emerging threats and ensure compliance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

Cash Express accesses personal information solely for the purpose of providing our services. We do not access or use personal information for any other purpose without your consent.

Individuals have the right to request access to their personal information held by Cash Express. Requests for access will be handled in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, ensuring that individuals are informed of the process to access their information.

  1. Correction of Personal Information

Cash Express will take reasonable steps to correct personal information to ensure it is accurate, up to date, complete, relevant, and not misleading, having regard to the purpose for which it is held.
